Sports & Remedial Massage Therapy
“Remedial” massage therapy, simply means using manual therapy techniques to try to “remedy” a problem. But to offer a remedy you must do more than just relieve pain; you must also be able to understand how the problem came about and how it can be avoided in the future. To achieve this, we use a range of massage and advanced soft tissue techniques set within a framework of assessment and rehabilitation procedures. As well as dealing effectively with a variety of musculoskeletal problems this can also be used to help in recovery and reduce the symptoms in many medical conditions too.
Nina includes Sports massage as a specialist area within Remedial massage therapy which applies all the same techniques and principles in a way that best meet the specific needs of the athlete, such as Soft tissue release, myofascial release, muscle energy technique and trigger point therapy. Nina does not recognise “Sports massage” as a single subject without the remedial skills because although this could be enough to take away an athlete’s pain at the time this does not offer them a remedy.
Myofascial Cupping is a modified version of the ancient Eastern style Cupping. It differs by specifically targeting the Musculo-Skeletal system rather than the meridian systems used by traditional Chinese practitioners. It can help to reduce tight knots and adhesions, increase blood flow and tissue repair and increases range of movement of joints.
You do not have to be an athlete, Nina is also trained to help you relax, relieve your muscles and help you forget about your busy life for an hour.

Pregnancy Massage
Nina trained in Pregnancy massage during her first pregnancy as she found it difficult to find a massage therapist that would focus on my areas of concern rather than just all over relaxation.
Pregnancy massage can be a deeply soothing treatment for tired Mums-to-be. I can offer relaxation focused massage but also focus on your aches and pains and work to get you pain free, feeling refreshed and help to flush out any swelling.
